Digitalising urban mobility for cleaner, smarter and more inclusive cities
Peru is strengthening the digitalisation of its transport sector to support cleaner, more inclusive and evidence-based mobility. The ACCESS project focuses on strengthening national policy frameworks and developing digital tools in Arequipa and Lima–Callao to support the transition to electric public transport, strengthen data collection and better understand mobility patterns among women and vulnerable groups
A highly urbanised country accelerating clean mobility
Peru is one of the most urbanised countries in Latin America. The highly urbanised country aims to have a 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030. The ACCESS project supports Peru in closing this gap by piloting practical digital tools for electric public transport transition, data collection and mobility pattern analysis in Lima-Callao and Arequipa, while simultaneously strengthening the regulatory frameworks and institutional capacities needed to scale these solutions nationally.
Implement and evaluate digital pilots
Implement pilot projects for digitization in public transport in the cities of Lima-Callao and Arequipa.
To provide data to support and promote political strategies for the electrification of public transport.
Support the development and adoption of subnational policies and plans aimed at inclusive and low-carbon urban mobility in Peru
Contribute to the regional expansion of experiences and knowledge in transport digitalization through the production of technical content. Sharing knowledge and experiences with other countries in the region on the digitization of public transport and the electrification process.
Lima-Callao
Strengthen technological capabilities in the transport sector, particularly for data collection and analysis.
